George Jenkins joined the British Bobsleigh programme in the summer of 2022 having been introduced to the sport courtesy of double Olympian, Nick Gleeson.

George trains at a gym that currently sponsors Nick and he was invited to a fun day at the push track in Bath as a result.

He excelled on his introduction to the sport and was consequently invited to GB trials ahead of the 2022/23 season.

George’s background is rugby union and rugby league, playing for Middlesex County in union and representing Wales Students in league.

Outside of bobsleigh, he works as a strength and conditioning coach in both men’s and women’s elite sport and the private sector. George has both an undergraduate and Masters degree in strength and conditioning, sports rehabilitation and massage from Cardiff Metropolitan University, graduating in 2021.

He has been selected to compete on the Europa Cup circuit this season and made his international debut in John Stanbridge’s 4-man team in November, finishing 15th and then 12th in Lillehammer.
