A global showpiece, the World Championships take place once a year, except in Olympic years, and is the highlight of the sliding calendar.

This season's event takes place in Winterberg, Germany - a venue where Lizzy Yarnold won Women's Skeleton gold when the track last hosted the World Championships in 2015.
