Risqat Fabunmi-Alade joined the British Bobsleigh programme in the summer of 2022 and has since represented the country on the Europa Cup (EC) circuit and in World Cup competition.

Risqat earned selection for the EC squad ahead of the 2022/23 season and made her debut alongside pilot Felicity Bee in Lillehammer that November. She finished 12th in her opening race and was 14th in her next outing with Nikki McSweeney in Igls in the December. She stepped up to the World Cup circuit on one occasion that season when she pushed McSweeney to 13th place in Igls in February 2023.

She was again selected for the EC team for the 2023/24 campaign but did not compete during the season despite featuring in on ice training.

Prior to beginning bobsleigh, Risqat represented England in athletics, where she made British Championship semi-finals and finals in sprint disciplines. A career highlight includes competing against Olympic Champion Elaine Thompson on the World Athletics Indoor World Tour.

Risqat studied Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Bath and represented Team Bath in athletics and the University of Bath in netball.

Outside of sport, she says she is a Jack of all trades trying to find and stick to the one she likes the most.
