BBSA Statement: Arran Gulliver

The British Bobsleigh & Skeleton Association note today’s ruling that bobsleigh athlete Arran Gulliver has been handed a two-year suspension as the result of an adverse analytical finding for SARMS enobosarm (ostarine) following an out of competition test in March.
The BBSA is committed to the eradication of doping and we fully support the International Testing Agency (ITA) and other anti-doping organisations in ensuring the integrity of our sport is protected. We will continue to work closely with UK Anti-Doping and the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) to promote Clean Sport both internally and externally and to ensure fairness is at the heart of all competition.
We note Arran’s decision to accept the verdict handed down by the ITA and to take full responsibility for his actions and the consequences that have arisen as a result.
We also note the ITA’s ruling that the violation arose as a result of contamination and was not intentional and we welcome Arran’s desire to now work to ensure others do not make the same mistake.
