BBC to show World Cup races

This year’s World Cup competition will be shown on the BBC via the Red Button and the Connected App.

The action kicks off in Lake Placid in New York State on Thursday of this week, with the BBC covering all three bobsleigh disciplines and both skeleton events across two days of competition.

The BBC showed the World Championships in each of the last two seasons but this week marks a welcome return to their coverage of the regular top tier of the sport.

As well as watching the action via the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation’s website and YouTube channel (ibsf.org/en/ibsf-tv and youtube.com/user/bobskeletv), you can now keep up with the opening World Cup race of the campaign via the following BBC outlets:

Thursday, 9 November

Women's Skeleton: 1.30-3.30pm, BBC Red Button and online
Women's Bobsleigh: 5.30-7.30pm, BBC Red Button and online
2-man Bobsleigh: 8.30-10.30pm, Connected TV and online

Friday, 10 November

Men's Skeleton: 1.30-3.30pm, BBC Red Button and online
2-man Bobsleigh*: 6-8pm, BBC Red Button and online

The first 2-man Bobsleigh race will be repeated at 11.30am-1.30pm on Friday on the Red Button and the second 2-man competition will be repeated the same day at 10.20pm-00.20am, also on the Red Button.

NB All times are GMT.

*Unseasonably warm weather has meant the scheduled 4-man race has been cancelled and a second 2-man race added to the calendar. The roles will be reversed in Park City in Week 2.
