LAURENCE BOSTOCK

British Skeleton Athlete

About Laurence

Laurence Bostock became the youngest ever British male to feature on the World Cup circuit when he competed in St Moritz at the end of January 2020.

Laurence was only 20 years old when he placed 23rd at the home of sliding in Switzerland in what was just his second month of international racing.

He made his GB debut in December 2019 when he finished 21st on the Europa Cup circuit in Winterberg and set a then personal best of ninth in Igls the following month.

Laurence made his first international podium when he claimed EC bronze in Lillehammer in November 2021 and he had compiled nine international medals by the end of the 2024/25 season, including three during the most recent campaign. He enjoyed his maiden race win in the Intercontinental Cup in Igls in February 2023 and his World Cup best to date is the 10th-place finish he recorded in Lillehammer in February 2025.

Laurence joined the GB Skeleton Talent team in the summer of 2017 while on the verge of completing his A Levels at the Anthony Gell School in Wirksworth, the same school that sailor Dame Ellen MacArthur previously attended.

Originally from Sutton Coldfield near Birmingham but having moved to mid Derbyshire at the age of four, Laurence was an all-round sportsman growing up. He played competitive club football and represented his county at both hockey and athletics. Having always had a love of outdoor sports and developed a keen interest in skiing, his route into skeleton came via the UK Sport backed talent identification campaign, Discover Your Gold.
