Vacancies: BBSA Board

The British Bobsleigh & Skeleton Association is seeking two new independent, non-executive directors to join the team at the start of the new Olympic cycle.

Having ended the Milan Cortrina cycle with a history-making medal haul in Italy, the BBSA head into the French Alps campaign looking to build on that success.

We are seeking a Commercial and Business Director and a Strategic Communications Director to help drive progress through to 2030 as we aim to ensure on-ice results are matched and maximised at a hugely exciting time for the organisation.

The successful candidates will be joining a team that won a record-breaking number of Olympic, World Championship, European Championship and Overall World Cup medals during the last Olympic quad and a Board that favours a collaborative, hardworking approach that combines strategic insight with a hands-on approach.

As well as possessing the requisite skill sets for the individual roles, candidates should be able to ask insightful questions, support the executive team and commit to helping the BBSA achieve its strategic and performance goals.

In addition to holding responsibility for the specific Commercial and Business or Strategic Communications functions, both positions will either lead or contribute to the work of a sub-committee.

Board meetings are held online predominantly, with quarterly in-person meetings in Bath or London. We estimate a circa two-three day commitment to BBSA Board work across a calendar month, with the appointment being for a period of up to four years (extendable by one additional term).
