Two times top six for GB2
The latest round of Europa Cup bobsleigh action saw the GB2 team twice make the wider podium in Germany.
Nick Gleeson piloted his 2-man team to fifth on Wednesday and sixth on Thursday in Altenberg in the penultimate race week before the Christmas break.
Gleeson and Jens Hullah were the top-placed non-German sled on Wednesday before he and Luka Willams finished a position lower in the 16-team field.
Hullah helped Gleeson to the fastest start times of the race in both heats on Wednesday on their way to a two-run downtime of 1 minute 52.42 seconds, 1.23 seconds behind race winner Max Illmann.
Gleeson and Williams were the third and then fifth fastest starters a day later as they clocked a combined time of 1 minute 52.36 seconds in a race won by another German, Alexander Czudaj.
GB finished just over a second outside the medals on Thursday and 0.46 seconds shy on Wednesday.
The results follow similar performances in Lillehammer last week when GB2 finished fifth in the 2-man competition and sixth in the 4-man in Norway.
The team now head to another German location in Winterberg, with a 2-man race scheduled for December 18 and a 4-man double header on December 20 and 21.
The circuit then stops for the Festive season, before beginning again in Igls in the second week of January.
