Emily Barrett joined the BBSA in the autumn of 2019 and made her international debut that same winter.

Having received a message through social media from the country’s leading female pilot, Mica McNeill, asking if she was interested in coming along to a session, Emily impressed during her first time on the push track in Bath.

She was invited to a trial four days later and subsequently selected to head out on season with McNeill and her crew.

Emily made her first appearance for GB in Europa Cup competition in December when she and McNeill finished 13th in Winterberg and she travelled with the squad for the opening World Cup event of the season at the same venue in January 2020.

A former 400m hurdler, Emily competed for Windsor, Slough, Eton and Hounslow Athletics Club and ranked 15th in the UK at U23 level. She was a BUCS silver medal winner in the 4x400m Relay for Birmingham University.

Emily has a BSc Honours in Sports Science & Coaching and she started teaching PE at Charters School, Ascot in 2016.
