Wlodarczak

Performance Coach

Olympic gold medal winning coach Charles Wlodarczak joined the British Skeleton team prior to the start of the 2019/20 sliding season.

Wlodarczak arrived at the BBSA on the back of a year as Head Coach of his native Canada.

He previously guided Sungbin Yun to the Olympic title in PyeongChang in 2018 during a three-year spell as National Team Coach and General Manager of the South Korean Bobsleigh Skeleton Federation.

A former international level skeleton slider and a forerunner at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Charles also coached Yun to Asia’s very first skeleton World Cup medal in Calgary in 2014.

Away from skeleton, Charles enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and his two dogs and two cats. He lists modifying his Jeep as his major hobby outside of the sport.

Charles has an undergraduate degree in History and Political Science, as well as a number of coaching and leadership qualifications, and he hopes to complete a master's degree at some point in the future.
