Lord Clifton Wrottesley is a keen sportsman, best known for his ongoing results on the Cresta Run in St Moritz, Switzerland, since winning his first Open race in 1997. He finished fourth in the men’s skeleton at the Salt Lake City 2002 Olympic Winter Games, where he represented Ireland.
He manages various family interests, focused on the property sector and serves on the Board of the Natural Burial Company, as well as the British Bobsleigh & Skeleton Association.
He has been involved in a varied range of industries, including hospitality, the drinks trade, event management, private equity and property and has also served in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces.
Clifton was previously President and then Chair of British Skeleton, President of the Irish Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association and Chef de Mission and Coach for the Irish team at the Turin 2006 Olympic Winter Games.
